  1. The figure is derived from ridership of two operators in Tokyo: Tokyo Metro Corporation 2.077 billion (Apr 2004-Mar 2005) [12] ; TOEI Subway 738 million (Jul 2003-Jun 2004) [13], thus passengers, transferred from one system to another are counted twice.
  2. MTR Airport Express is excluded.
