In Greek mythology, Polites referred to two different people, both of whom feature as minor characters in the epics by Homer.

  1. One of Odysseus' crew (Odyssey X, 224). Odysseus refers to him as his dearest friend, though he is only mentioned once. He is killed either by Scylla or the storm that sink's Odysseus's ship.
  2. Son of Priam and Hecuba, Polites was known for his swiftness. He was killed by Neoptolemus during the Trojan War. (Iliad II, 791; XIII, 533)bg:Полит
