Kristen Carroll Wiig (born August 22, 1973) is an American actress, comedian, and impressionist. She is a member of the Groundlings<ref name="official" /><ref name="usatoday">They're live on SNL, a December 2005 USA Today article</ref> whose most visible work is as a cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Wiig also appeared in the first season of Spike TV's The Joe Schmo Show.

[edit] SNL sketch work

Wigg debuted after the start of SNL's 31st season on November 12, 2005<ref name="usatoday" />. In Wiig's first skit, she played the wife of Jason Sudeikis; the two accidentally pick up an escaped murderer (Jason Lee), unwittingly giving the murderer carte blanche to break into their home and violate their daughter.

Since then, Wiig has appeared in a recurring role as an unfocused Target employee. She also has a recurring role in the "Two A-Holes..." sketches. She has a recurring role as Amy Poehler's Aunt Linda, an irritable relative who serves as Weekend Update's resident film critic.

While on the show Wiig has performed impressions of Drew Barrymore, a drugged-out Judy Garland, Felicity Huffman, Katharine Hepburn, Megan Mullally (an impression some think[citation needed] is closer to Mullally's Will & Grace character, Karen Walker), and Jane Pauley.

Wiig survived an SNL budget cut<ref>That '70s Show: Saturday Night Live in the post-Tina Fey, YouTube unknown from The Village Voice</ref>, becoming a full member of the repertory cast at the beginning of the show's 32nd season.

[edit] Personal life

Wiig was born in Rochester, New York and graduated from Brighton High School in 1991.[citation needed] She later attended the University of Arizona.<ref name="usatoday" /> In 2005, she married actor/comic Hayes Hargrove <ref name="usatoday" />.
